ENGLISH:
This is one of three species in this genus, belonging to the
tribe Strongyliini. It used to be considered one of the most
primitive Tenebrionids, but it is perhaps one of the most
developed. It is a flying beetle that lives in the Central
and South of Chile, associated to forests. Flyies high over
the trees during the hot hours. The life cycle in

Esta es una de las tres especies del genero Homocyrtus.
Antes se consideraba un coleoptero muy primitivo, pero
estudios recientes lo ponen como dentro de los mas
evolucionados. Es un Tenebrionido volador que vive en el
Centro Sur de Chile. Se los ve volar de arbol en arbo a las
horas de mas calor. Su larva y el ciclo biologico son
desconocidos.
