ENGLISH:
Epistomentis is one of the commonest chilean buprestids. It
lives from Curico to Osorno, associated to the so called
"Valdivian Forest", which is composed mainly of Nothofagus.
It is very pretty to see it flying on tops of Nothofagus
dombeyi (Coigue de Chile). It is so common that sometimes
one can find several hundreds in one afternoon. ESPAÑOL:
Uno de los buprestidos mas comunes en Chile. Se lo encuentra
entre Curico y Osorno, asociado al bosque Valdiviano, el
cual se compone principalmente de Nothofagus. Es
particularmente bello ver volar ejemplares en las cumbres de
Nothofagus dombeyii, Coigue. Con un poco de suerte en un dia
asoleado de verano uno puede colectar muchos
ejemplares.
