ENGLISH:
Conognatha azurea: A pretty Buprestid. Even nicer is to find
them oneself in the Andean regions between Talca to
Valdivia. They are attracted to many flowers where they can
be photographed and collected. The genus Conognatha has many
species but this and Conognatha fisheri are probably the
most colorful ones, being most species common. Here in the
photo this specimen is about to fly from a Baccharis plant.
ESPAÑOL:
El genero Conognatha tiene muchas especies, todas bastante
frecuentes de encontrar. Viven en habitats bastante
especificos y cuando se las encuentra habitualmente hay
muchas juntas. Vuelan a la hora de calor. Las especies azure
y fisheri son de las mas bellas. El genero se encuentra
entre Coquimbo y Puerto Montt. Esta especie vive entre Talca
y Valdivia.
