Pedro Vidal G.H.

The author of this page is an self made entomologist. Brought up in a farm near Santiago comes from a traditional chilean family, started working with chilean entomologist Luis E Peña since childhood. Studied General Biology and a full Medical career. Also worked in Parasitology. Later obtained a Masters degree in General Surgery and then become a specialist in Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. Worked in Britain for 9 years and at present is lecturer-researcher in Anatomy and Head of the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Department at the Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago. He is also a collaborator to the Santiago Natural History Museum (Zoology), member of the Chilean Entomological Society, American Entomological Society and several Medical societies. He is a consultant to several Departments of the Biological Sciences Faculty, Universidad Católica de Chile. Has written several papers and books chapters.

He divides his time between Zoology and Reconstructive Surgery, a rather hard task nowadays.
